PRESENTATION
- please notice that a presentation should not take more than 20 min.
- it is planned that in each room there will be available:
- multimedia projector connected to...
- ...notebook with Windows 98 / 2000 and Office 2000 (GB edition) installed
- transparency projector
- screen: usually 2.5 by 2 m, in some rooms 2.5 by 2 m, in Small Hall: 3 by 4 m
- (on request) slide projector
- (on request) the sound system (microphone + loud speakers), except Small Hall
- between the sessions the technical staff can give help on installing a presentation
- during the sessions, the administrative staff (present in each room) will be in contact with the technical staff
- 1 slide room will be offered for the participants (rooms no. 215 and 308) for preparation of a presentation
POSTER PREPARATION
Throughout the conference the opportunity will be offered to discuss posters presentation.
Posters will be displayed at the first floor near the conference room no. 134 (see the plan).
- The size of the poster should not be larger than: 242 cm (height) by 97 cm (width)
- Posters will be fixed with adhesive tape (no thumbnails!) to the one-sided tables standing in row close to the walls. If necessary, please contact technical staff to get help for displaying your poster.
- Authors will be asked to be present at the poster during the coffee breaks between sessions.
- Please write author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s) on the poster.
- Please use font large enough for the text.
PAPERS PREPARATION
Authors are asked to follow the guidelines listed below.
Here you can download the example of the formatted article.
- The length of the paper should not exceed 10 pages.
- The full text of all papers will be made available on CD-ROM (the possibility of printing also selected papers is under consideration). The printed transactions will contain only the keynote addresses, general reports and abstracts of all papers.
- The papers should be delivered in Microsoft Word format, in one single file. The size of the file should not exceed 3 MB.
- Preferably, texts and pictures should be in greyscale (colours should be avoided).
- The papers must be written in English.
- The data and numerical information should be given in SI units, if necessary.
- The standard format includes:
- Times New Roman font, 12 pt size
- justified text
- single space between lines
- A4 page size
- margins 2.5 cm wide
Front page
The front page should contain title, author's names (referred to in the footnote) and abstract.
Title
- should be as brief as possible, preferably not exceeding 70 characters (including spaces)
- Arial, bold, 14 pt
- centred
Author's names
- italic, 11.5 pt
- sequentially, name (or initial) and surname of each author, possibly in single line
- centred
- directly below the title
- each author's name should be followed by the number, referenced in the footnote
Abstract
- 11 pt
- margins 4 cm
- one blank line (12 pt high) above (between author's names and the abstract)
- two blank lines (12 pt high each) below (between the abstract and the first header)
Footnote
- 10 pt
- should contain the reference stating: the present employment position, complete address, fax, e-mail
Main text
Headers
- Header 1 (the main header): Arial, bold, italic, 13 pt
- Header 2: Arial, bold, italic, 12 pt
- Header 3: Arial, bold, 11 pt
- all headers justified to left
Images, charts, figures, tables
- justified to left
- caption 10 pt
- caption should be under an image, chart or figure and above a table
- preferably numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals
Formulae
- centred
- if necessary, formulae should be numbered consecutively; numbers justified to right and placed in the same line as the formula
References
- in text: author's name, year of issue, e.g. (Broner, Law, 1992)
- at the end of the document (arranged in an alphabetical order according to author's surname):
Name(s) of authors. Year of issue. Title of publication or article. Name of periodical or publisher, volume number, issue number, page number, language (if other than English).
e.g.:
Broner I. and Law R.R.P. 1992. Water balance for irrigation using ET input. ICID Bull. 41 (2): 173-182
Papers are invited on the topics outlined here and others falling within the scope of
the conference. Research investigations utilising field data, theoretical or numerical
work, or laboratory experiments are welcome. Abstracts should clearly state the purpose,
results and conclusions of the work to be described in the paper. In the cover note by
which you will submit an abstract, please state clearly the topical area in which you
would like to make your presentation, and the type of presentation you will make (oral,
poster, or other). Abstracts (not more than 300 words) should be in Word for
Windows.
Abstracts were to be submitted by e-mail to the address dziekan@is.pw.edu.pl. Internet submissions were to
be sent at the earliest possible date but not later than January 7, 2002. Paper/Fax abstracts must be
received by the Conference Secretariat one-week prior to electronic deadline.
Complete papers should be sent to the Conference Secretariat by July 15, 2002, to the same address
dziekan@is.pw.edu.pl.
The proceedings of the Conference will be published in two forms: a book form for
abstracts and a CD-ROM for full papers. They will be available to participants at the time
of the registration.
ABSTRACT PREPARATION
Please read these guidelines carefully before writing the abstract.
- The deadline for receipt of the abstract was 7 January 2002.
- All abstracts are to be written in English with length maximum 300 words.
- All abstracts must be word-processed in Microsoft Word or typed in within an area of
135 mm x 195 mm and printed on a A4 sheet. Above each abstract a blank line of 30 mm
height should be added.
- In typing there should be used font New Roman. Please note that submitted abstracts
will be reduced to 75%, approx. Please use the following fonts and sizes:
- Title: 14 points bold
- Author(s) Name(s): 11,5 points italic
- Author's addresses: 9,5 point italic
- Text: 11 points
- Keywords: 9,5 points italic
- Affiliations: 9,5 points
- The title should be typed directly below the top border of the abstract area. The
maximum length of the title is 2 lines single-spaced. The first letter of main words
should be written in capitals.
- The name(s) of Author(s) should be printed below the title.
- The title and Author names should be centred.
- In writing Author names, please start by initial(s) of first name(s) and then last
name(s). Please specify the Author(s) affiliations and e-mail address(es) by numeric
superscripts near bottom border of the abstract space. Mark the name of the presenting
Author with an asterisk ( * ).
- The text of the abstract is to be typed single-spaced below the Authors names after a
blank line is skipped. If it has more then one paragraph, add a blank line space between
paragraphs.
- Graphics, mathematical or chemical formulas, and tables are allowed in the abstract.
Pictures cannot be processed. Colour text or graphics are not acceptable.
